Harshith Nagaraj, MSc
PhD student
I am a Ph.D. student in the Brandon laboratory. I completed my Bachelor of Science and Master of Science from the Indian Institute of Science, where I worked on single neuron models as well as models of neural networks. I was awarded the Gold medal from the institute for my work as an undergraduate. I am currently working on performing Ca2+recordings of the head-direction system in mice, with a focus on understanding its involvement in behaviors such as path-integration. My aim is to elucidate how activity at the neural circuit level can affect behaviour under different experimental conditions, and to employ computational modeling to help explain the link between the two. I also hope to study how these systems are affected in different pathological conditions as well. In my free time, I enjoy reading books and watching cricket.
